The FullDome Festival will present the »Janus Awards«, Honorable Mentions and Student Finalists at the Festi-val Gala on May 24, 2014. A maximum of ten Janus Awards will be available. Awardees will be determined by a jury that is independent from the Festival Directors. Its members will be announced in public. The »Directors Award«, if chosen, will be determined by the Festival Directors. The Audience Award will be determined by ballot exclusively by the audience present at the FullDome Festival Gala on May 24, 2014.
Fixed Janus Awards:
• Creative Award (best idea) to a student production, with €500 prize money donated by Carl Zeiss AG;
• Performance Award (best implementation) to a student production, with €500 prize money donated by Carl Zeiss AG;
• Audience Award, with €500 prize money donated by Carl Zeiss AG.
Flexible Janus Awards:
Further Janus Awards shall be presented on specific criteria dependent on entries, available funds, jury’s and director’s votes. As in the previous year, such categories could be: Spatial Sound Award, Best Emphasis on Emotion, Best in Scientific Visualization, Best Use of Technology, Best of New Starters, etc. The awards may be endowed with prize money or not, depending on available funds at the time of the Festival. Companies, organi-zations and individuals are entitled to donate specific awards including prize money.
Otherwise outstanding festival contributions will be awarded Honorable Mentions as unendowed prizes.
Student contributions selected by the jury to be presented at the FullDome Festival Gala are entitled as Final-ists and are eligible to receive the Audience Award.
At the Gala and award ceremony on May 24, all award-winning contributions and an extended “best-of” selec-tion will be shown.
