7th FullDome Festival on May 29th – June 1st, 2013 at the Jena Zeiss-Planetarium
The 7th FullDome Festival will show professional, independent and student productions in different categories. In 2013, a limited number of full-length feature shows will presented. Producers of feature shows may apply for screenings at the Festival (see deadlines below).
As in the previous years, student fulldome productions and fulldome short films by independent artists can be submitted. The thematic focus in 2013 is on the concept of »Ornamental Dances«, a term that may be freely interpreted in all categories.
Special theme »Ornamental Dances«
The German States of Thuringia and Saxony celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the multi-talented artist Henry van de Velde in 2013. Van de Velde disregarded the conventional boundaries between “arts” and “crafts”. He always followed the principle that “beautiful” things which blend into their surroundings would have an inspiring and uplifting effect on people. Henry van de Velde is famous for his designs. His ornaments in the style of the Art Nouveau are now recognized as fundamentals of the “Jugendstil” or “Secession Style” on the turn to the 20th centure.
The special theme of the 2013 FullDome Festival shall inspire fulldome producers and students to transfer van de Velde’s philosophy to modern time and arts.
Entries are welcome from professional or independent producers as well as students. Contributions must not exceed lengths of 5 min (student entries) or 15 min (non-student entries). A “best-of” selection will be presented at the Gala on June 1st. A jury will rate the productions and decide on the “Ornamental Dances Award” as well as further awards for specific achievements.
