Wir feiern unser Jubiläum! Zum 20. Mal öffnen wir die Türen des dienstältesten Planetariums der Welt für das internationale
FullDome Festival 2026. Wir zeigen die besten 360° Filme, welche im letzten Jahr produziert
wurden. Die Filme sind von professionellen Produzenten, jungen Talenten und innovativen Künstler
erstellt und feiern teilweise ihre Weltpremiere. Die besten Produktionen werden am 17.07.2026 mit dem JANUS-Awards ausgezeichnet, dem „Oscar“ der FullDome Szene.
Neben den Fulldome Filmen gehören auch die Frameless Forum Vorträge zum Programm. Hierbei werden Innovationen aus dem Bereich Fulldome, Medienkunst, Electronic Art, Virtual Reality und 3D Sound zur Diskussion gestellt.

Filmvorstellungen und Frameless Forum Vorträgen des Tages (15:00-18:30 Uhr).

The film imagines how architecture and culture continue to transform over time.
Guided by an ambient score from electronic artist Lusine, the work unfolds as a slow flythrough of light and form, using motion and scale to suggest how traces of place persist beyond their original world.

Dance DOME Revolution invites audiences to travel back to the vibrant disco era of the 1980s and step into a dazzling dome dance floor. Through immersive 360-degree fulldome projection and retro-inspired dance movements, the work transforms spectators into participants, encouraging them to rediscover bodily rhythm through movement.
The story follows an elderly participant who attends the party with their granddaughter, Anna. What begins as quiet observation gradually turns into participation, as Anna’s enthusiastic invitation draws them onto the dance floor. Moving from hesitation to freedom, the dancer reconnects with a long-forgotten sense of passion and courage through music and motion.

Under the Sky is a 6 minutes immersive animated film by artist Jérémy Griffaud, created at the invitation of the Musée national Marc Chagall. This 360° work surrounds the viewer in a dreamlike flow of hybrid landscapes and fantastical creatures. Composed of nearly 300 watercolors created during an artistic residency in Borneo, the work is inspired by local tribal cultures and their deep, spiritual connection with the natural world. Echoing and transforming Chagall's humanist message, Under the Sky emphasizes our fragile relationship with plants, animals and insects. Between Edenic gardens and disappearing ecosystems, the animation offers a poetic meditation on interconnection, loss and the cycles of life.

"La Méthode des moments" is my third fulldome short and explores, in graphic form, the passage of time through different phases in life. This way, the film transposes the method of moments, a statistical technique, into the artistic realm. Rather than illustrating life literally, the film unfolds it through abstraction, letting memory, growth, and loss emerge from shifting shapes and movement.
In my deepest moments of grief, I’ve noticed how I’m suddenly flooded by a torrent of memories rising all at once— like bubbles full of fragments of what I was losing, with no sense of order or scale, from the smallest details to the most defining moments.
In the film, these moment-bubbles don’t just float alone. They merge and cling together, shaping clusters and patterns; charting a specific period, where memories combine to reveal what life felt like at that time. You embark on an immersive journey through these moments: at times, you drift inside them; at others, you land after passing through and experience them in the present, letting them shine around you.
Through these reinvented graphs, the movie illustrates a universal human experience.

Tales of Hofman is an immersive exploration of the often-unnoticed processes that shape our perception of the world. Beginning in the quiet complexity of a forest ecosystem, the film moves through surreal landscapes before transitioning into the human brain, incorporating authentic MRI scans to suggest shifting states of mind. By drawing subtle parallels between natural systems and human biology, it reflects on the interconnectedness of environment and consciousness. Combining 360° live-action footage with 3D animation created in Blender and Unreal Engine, the film transforms scientific imagery into a poetic audiovisual experience.
The project premiered on December 11. 2025 at the Planetarium Hamburg, were it was part of a one-hour student production from the HAW Hamburg.

Am Eröffnungsabend des Fulldome Festivals 2026 präsentiert sie frisch aus dem Studio ihr aktuelles Werk zum allerersten Mal.
Das 40-minütige Tape bewegt sich zwischen Podcast und musikalischer Performance:
Es begleitet eine Nacht im Club – vom Warm-up durch die intensive Session bis in den Chill-out.
Gespielt wird größtenteils im Dunkeln, mit einem bewusst gesetzten Fokus auf das Hören.
Kein Bild, kein Ablenkung – nur Klang und Erzählung. Besonders mit dem neuen Soundsystem von Holoplot, wird es ein akustisches Erlebnis.

Anna Green ist Leiterin für Bildungskonzepte und Live-Programme im Zeiss-Planetarium Jena und bringt mehr als 15 Jahre Erfahrung mit stationären und mobilen Planetarien in den USA und Europa mit. Sie hat einen Master-Abschluss in Museumskunde sowie eine Lehrbefugnis und ist spezialisiert auf interaktive Live-Programme, lehrplanbasierte Bildung und Weltraumgeschichte. Zuvor war Anna als Leiterin des James S. McDonnell Planetariums in Saint Louis tätig, wo sie inklusive Programme für sehbehinderte und blinde Besucher entwickelte. Als zweimal gewählte Vorstandsmitglied der International Planetarium Society ist sie eine anerkannte Verfechterin von Innovation und Barrierefreiheit im Planetariumsbereich. Anna ist der Überzeugung, dass Weltraumwissenschaft für alle zugänglich sein sollte, und hofft, dass ihre Arbeit die Neugier auf das Universum weckt.

Zur Typologie der Planetarien. Theaterlayouts und visuelle Sprache
Wie beeinflusst die räumliche Gestaltung eines Kuppelraums die Geschichten, die wir darin erzählen? Dieser Vortrag untersucht die Beziehung zwischen räumlicher Gestaltung und Zuschauererlebnis in Planetarien als immersive Medienumgebungen. Auf der Grundlage eines Datensatzes von 164 Kuppeln aus den GDP- und GLPA-Communities wird eine Typologie der Planetarien vorgestellt, um Strukturen innerhalb der Planetariumslandschaft zu identifizieren. Anhand statistischer Analysen lassen sich mehrere unterschiedliche Kuppeltypen herausarbeiten, von denen jeder seine eigene räumliche Logik und eigene Betrachtungsbedingungen aufweist. Auf der Grundlage von Medien- und Designtheorie reflektiert der Vortrag über die Bildsprache des Fulldome und die aktuellen Bedingungen der Planetariumspraxis.

Einsatz von Blender in der Fulldome-Produktion
In den letzten Jahren hat sich die Open-Source-Software Blender zu einer ernstzunehmenden Alternative zu kommerziellen Produkten wie 3D Studio Max, Cinema 4D und Maya entwickelt. Sie wird mittlerweile nicht nur von Hobbyanwendern und in der Werbebranche genutzt, sondern auch für erfolgreiche, für den Oscar nominierte Produktionen. Dieser Vortrag dient sowohl als Einführung in Blender als auch als Plädoyer für den Einsatz von Blender als Werkzeug in der Fulldome-Produktion.

Alien Kin & XTRA. Künstlerische Forschung, kollektive Produktion und immersive Weltgestaltung
Alien Kin ist ein immersives Fulldome-Projekt, das sich mittels zeitgenössischer Medienkunst und experimentellem Storytelling mit Entfremdung, kollektiver Transformation und spekulativen Welten auseinandersetzt. Dieser Vortrag gibt Einblicke in die künstlerische Forschung hinter dem Projekt und stellt XTRA vor, eine im Aufbau befindliche Plattform für immersive Medienkunst, kollektive Produktion und Forschung im Bereich XR und Fulldome-Kultur. Die Präsentation enthält zudem Erkenntnisse aus einer laufenden Umfrage, die sich mit zeitgenössischen Wahrnehmungen von Alien-Bildern, Andersartigkeit und emotionalen Realitäten befasst.
Dr. Beatriz Villarroel, Nordic Institute of Theoretical Physics, Stockholm University
Seltsame, vorüberziehende Objekte am Himmel. Beatriz’ jüngste, von Fachkollegen begutachtete Forschungsarbeiten liefern stichhaltige Belege für nicht-anthropogene UAP (unbekannte anomale Phänomene). Obwohl das Thema UAP von einer Mischung aus Abtun und Ausblenden geprägt ist, ist es nicht von der Bildfläche verschwunden. Tatsächlich ist es heute sichtbarer denn je, mit Anhörungen im US-Kongress und Filmen wie dem Dokumentarfilm Age of Disclosure aus dem Jahr 2025 und Steven Spielbergs Film Disclosure Day aus dem Jahr 2026. Trotz der wachsenden Spekulationen und ontologischen Unsicherheiten basiert Dr. Beatriz Villarroels Forschung fest auf beobachtbaren Daten, die dennoch sehr erstaunlich sind.

Kunst trifft Science-Fiction. Susanne beschäftigt sich intensiv mit dem Werk und Leben des visionären Autors Herbert W. Franke, der 2027 seinen 100. Geburtstag gefeiert hätte. Sie erkannte, dass Fulldome das geeignetste Medium wäre, um Frankes weitreichende Ideen an der Schnittstelle von Kunst und Science-Fiction zu vermitteln.

Die Zukunft der Wissenschaftskommunikation erkunden. Anna ist Regisseurin, Produzentin und Autorin mit Schwerpunkt auf immersivem Storytelling – sie nutzt Erzählkunst, Raumgestaltung und Technologie, um komplexe Ideen auf eine Weise zu vermitteln, die sowohl fesselnd als auch verständlich ist. Vom Visualization Center in Norrköping, Schweden, aus leitet sie das Produktionsteam und erforscht im Rahmen der nationalen Wisdome-Initiative die Zukunft der Wissenschaftskommunikation. Ihre Arbeit umfasst Texte, Filme, interaktive Ausstellungen und immersive Medien – insbesondere Fulldome. Ihre jüngste Fulldome-Produktion, Once Upon the Moon, feierte im Mai 2026 Premiere.

Traumhafte Umgebungen, die kurz vor der Verwirklichung stehen. Kelley ist Gestalterin und Koordinatorin von immersiven Installationen und Fulldome-Shows. Dabei verbindet sie Kunst, Technologie, Interaktion, Unterhaltungswissenschaften, Wellness, Spiel und große Ideen, die ein bleibendes Erlebnis schaffen. Die Projekte, an denen sie beteiligt ist, zeugen von traumhaften Umgebungen, die kurz vor der Verwirklichung stehen. Umgebungen, die Ehrfurcht vor den Menschen und der Natur um uns herum wecken. Anna Green, Zeiss-Planetarium Jena

Anna Green ist Leiterin für Bildungskonzepte und Live-Programme im Zeiss-Planetarium Jena und bringt mehr als 15 Jahre Erfahrung mit stationären und mobilen Planetarien in den USA und Europa mit. Sie hat einen Master-Abschluss in Museumskunde sowie eine Lehrbefugnis und ist spezialisiert auf interaktive Live-Programme, lehrplanbasierte Bildung und Weltraumgeschichte. Zuvor war Anna als Leiterin des James S. McDonnell Planetariums in Saint Louis tätig, wo sie inklusive Programme für sehbehinderte und blinde Besucher entwickelte. Als zweimal gewählte Vorstandsmitglied der International Planetarium Society ist sie eine anerkannte Verfechterin von Innovation und Barrierefreiheit im Planetariumsbereich. Anna ist der Überzeugung, dass Weltraumwissenschaft für alle zugänglich sein sollte, und hofft, dass ihre Arbeit die Neugier auf das Universum weckt.

Die Holoplot-Audio-Revolution. Von Erfurt über Las Vegas bis zum Jenaer Planetarium. Don Henley, der legendäre Musiker der Eagles, äußerte sich wie folgt zum Holoplot-Audiosystem in der Sphere in Las Vegas, wo die Eagles kürzlich auftraten:
„Das Soundsystem ist einzigartig auf der Welt. In dieser Kuppel befinden sich etwa 167.000 Lautsprecher.“

Jeder kennt die Eagles und die Sphere. Aber nicht jeder weiß, dass das Grundprinzip des Holoplot-Systems von einem Audioerfinder aus Erfurt namens Helmut Oellers entwickelt wurde. Wir fühlen uns geehrt, dass Herr Oellers einige Hintergrundgeschichten zu dieser revolutionären Audiotechnologie erzählen wird, die nun auch im Jenaer Planetarium installiert ist.

Warum wir glauben, dass wir im Dome auftreten müssen. David erklärt, warum das österreichische Performance-Trio Lucy Dreams zu dem Schluss gekommen ist, dass es an der Zeit ist, im Dome aufzutreten. Die Musiklandschaft wird durch die sich wandelnde Beziehung zwischen Mensch und Maschine neu geprägt. Lucy Dreams verkörpert diesen Wandel durch eine nahtlose Verschmelzung von analoger und digitaler Kunst, wobei Lucy – ein aktives künstliches Bandmitglied – im Mittelpunkt ihrer kreativen Vision steht. Der SonicWaveArtPop-Stil des Trios ist ein ausdrucksstarkes und immersives Medium, das die Sinne fesselt und gleichzeitig gesellschaftlich relevante Fragen aufwirft. Die Band hat ihren unverwechselbaren Sound bereits auf Bühnen in Kanada, Japan, Europa und Großbritannien präsentiert – und wahrscheinlich bald auch auf der Dome-Bühne.

Eve is small, but her problems feel huge. She is not sure she can stand up to the wolves, those rough, pushy types who always seem to pick on her. So she runs away. But her mother understands. To help, she shares three stories that reveal the wonders of life and the strength even the smallest can possess.
In the Family version, Eve’s mother tells her about the tiny cell that made life possible, the brave Tiktaalik, a fish that conquered the land, and the clever squirrel who outlasted the mighty dinosaurs. These stories show how even the smallest creatures can change the world.
In the School version, the stories begin with our Solar System. Jupiter is the largest planet, but Venus shines the brightest. Saturn’s rings are stunning, but Mars has the tallest mountain. And Earth? Not the biggest, not the most beautiful, but the only one where life exists.

Each River Holds a Memory is based on a myth of the Marikito Tapuyá people, from the state of Pernambuco, Brazil, in which the river is understood as a living archive. According to this narrative, a great snake inhabits the river and cares for the bodies of Indigenous people murdered during the colonial process. Many of these deaths occurred in the context of forced catechization, when those who resisted or attempted to flee were thrown into the river from the hilltop where the church stands.
In a context in which many Indigenous peoples continue to struggle for rights and the restitution of their territories, the work updates this myth by understanding Indigenous cosmologies as living systems of knowledge, capable of reorganizing ways of thinking about the body, memory, history, and territory.
The chants present in the work, performed by the voice of the juremeiro José Neri, evoke the encantados — ancestors who, after death, become active forces guiding the community. Among them is Malunguinho, king of the forests, a historical leader of Indigenous and Afro-Indigenous resistance during the colonial period, later venerated as a spiritual entity and a central reference in the traditions of Jurema. This ritual, through the ingestion of a vegetal preparation, chants, dances, and prayers, promotes expanded states of consciousness and constitutes a central episteme of this culture.

Stylized visuals based on 3D scans, 360 footage and generative algorithms merge “Sin City” and the Mojave Desert into fragmented, shifting worlds in constant transformation. Carried by an original sound design interpreting these ideas, the work is reflecting on decay, probability and our constant, unstoppable movement along the arrow of time.

100 Jahre Planetarium Jena · 20 Jahre Fulldome Festival
Wir feiern das mit einem Launch, der die Sterne zum Vibrieren bringt und das Bewusstsein neu kalibriert. Eine Nacht zwischen Zero Gravity, Supernova-Energie und 360°-Fusion.
Eine kosmische Kollision aus Bass, Licht und kollektivem Bewusstsein.
MAIN FLOOR · SPACESHIP
Dark Dopamin statt Kerosin.
Fennek sprengt direkt die Schallmauer und Genres.
Druckwellen tiefer als Black Holes.
Crescendos mit Sogkraft: hypnotisch, tranceartig, fesselnd. Floor Energy: Extraterrestrial.
Sein Stil. Sein Talent. Nicht von dieser Welt: Oliver Koletzki
Melodisch, frequenzverzaubert, schwerelos schön, ein Sound zwischen Euphorie, Tiefe und interstellarem Drift. Die Umlaufbahn wird weicher, der Raum weiter, der Floor hebt geschlossen ab: ein Moment zwischen Cosmic Dawn und kollektivem Schwebezustand.
Schwerelosigkeit und Mach10, LydiaM navigiert uns an das Ende des Universums. Techno als Treibstoff, Hardtechno als Schubkraft. Die Frequenzen werden dichter, der Puls steigt, der Mainfloor geht auf Lichtgeschwindigkeit.
Anasofiacalix, Fairlix und Meisam Nemati fluten das Spaceship mit 360°-Visuals, die Synapsen glühen lassen und die Wahrnehmung erweitern. Galaktische Lichtströme, fraktale Räume, kosmische Welten — alles verschmilzt zu einer zweiten Atmosphäre aus Sound, Motion und Mind Expansion.

Myzel der Galaxie
Während das Spaceship durch den Hyperraum jagt, wächst hier der Kosmos von unten: organisch, warm, trippy, körpernah. Ein psychedelisches Wurzelnetz aus Groove, Nebel, Rhythmus und kollektivem Puls.
Lukas Geister öffnet die Tiefenschichten: Hypnotische Loops und melodic pressure verweben sich zu einem Set, das nicht nach vorne drückt, sondern nach innen zieht. Kein Stillstand, kein Außen, nur Rotation.
Phoebe lässt den Garden Floor erblühen. Disco-Moleküle, House-DNA und Garage-Enzyme verschmelzen zu einem warmen, organischen Sound voller Farbe und Leben. Disco 2026 – präzise kultiviert, unverwechselbar und bereit, Wurzeln in Kopf und Herz zu schlagen.
Vorsicht: Dieser Sound hinterlässt Sporen.
Max Bambi führt die Reise weiter in den Afterglow: deep, magnetisch, körperlich, schwebend. Basslinien wie dunkle Materie. Melodien wie Lichtpartikel im Nebel. Ein Floor für alle, die den Rave nicht nur hören, sondern darin verschwinden wollen.

Zum Abschluss der internationalen Planetariumsgesellschaftstagung haben wir ein Programm zusammengestellt, das sich besonders an Kinder wendet. Die dürfen aber gerne ihre
Eltern mitbringen, denn die Großen werden die ausgewählten Fulldome Filme genauso mögen wie die Kleinen.
So haben Kinder ab 4 Jahren und insbesondere alle, die mit dem Traumzauberbaum aufgewachsen sind, gleichermaßen Freude an den traumzauberhaften Geschichtenliedern, die sich an der großen 360º-Planetariumskuppel überlebensgroß entfalten. Ein einzigartiges Erlebnis, denn es fühlt sich an, als würde man den Kopf in ein Fernsehbild stecken und sich dann selbst mitten in der Szenerie befinden.
